Overview
Booth A53
Wed–Sat 11am–7pm / Sun 11am–5pm
For it's second participation to Untitled Art Miami Beach, Dec 3-7, Adrian Sutton Gallery is delighted to present works by Adéla Janská (b. 1981), Wole Lagunju (b. 1966), William Osorio (b. 1989), Enoc Perez (b.. 1967) and Joe Reihsen (b. 1979), focusing on themes of displacement, migratory paths, and the role that cultural heritage plays within the working practice of these highlighted artists.
How far does place of birth, heritage, familial ties for example remain in the consciousness of artists who have long ago left their homeland and childhood homes behind.
Two exceptions are Joe Reihsen and Adéla Janskà, they are rooted in their place of birth, Reihsen reflecting the great and long tradition of painterly abstraction within the United States whilst Janskà is undeniably a product of central and Eastern European painting traditions, however, all are united in the fact that place of birth remains the formative path.
