BOOTH C23
Ocean Drive and 12th Street, Miami Beach, Florida
Adrian Sutton Gallery is delighted to annouce its inaugural particitation at Untitled Art Miami Beach, Dec 4-8. We will be showcasing new work from the Czech born painter Adéla Janská (b. 1981), the US born Los Angeles based painter Joe Reihsen (b. 1979) and the Turkish born multi-disciplinary artist Nasan Tur (b. 1974).
Adéla Janská's country of birth being a former communist satellite state, her works are paying homage to the glorious past of central and Eastern European art before the Iron Curtain came down whilst revisiting the female nude and challenging the traditional representation of femininity. It is juxtapositioned to the work by Nasan Tur who was born into a Turkish family who had moved to Germany in the 1960's under the Gasterbeiterprogramm (guest worker program). His multi-facetted work covers and reflects on social structures, political doctrines, power, fragility, capitalism, Marxism, dissent, repression, political and social conflict as well as on the financial structures at the core of our societies. Their work is juxtapositioned to the work by American painter Joe Reihsen. With gestural fluidity, his paintings have shown for the past twenty years an abstract use of colours and shapes, reflecting directly on nature and landscapes.
